John has been practicing physical therapy for over 30 years in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics and acute/sub-acute rehabilitation facilities.
John has also managed therapy practices and fitness gyms. He is a 1987 graduate of Northern Arizona University’s PT program and returned later to NAU to obtain his doctorate degree (DPT) in 2005. John has a keen interest in leveraging strength and conditioning to combat preventable diseases and disabilities, including senior strength training for fall prevention using natural reactions triggered by a balance loss. He has shared his findings and knowledge in invited lectures to doctoral PT students, in seminars to practicing therapists and with senior living campus and senior community residents. His career started at Boswell Hospital in Sun City, AZ and he has since lived in Arizona with a practice focus on geriatric physical therapy. His wife is an RN, also with 30 years of experience providing nursing services to independent and assisted senior living facilities. They enjoy exploring the Southwest outdoors together, either in camping or on off-road adventure motorcycle trips and plan to do so well past a sensible age for those activities.
